Movie “Kikujiro” is a road movie produced by Takeshi Kitano in 1999.

The wonderful point of this film is the “music” which makes a world view in this film.

“Is it not pictures but music ?” maybe you think, but I think wonderful film must be with wonderful music, and wonderful movie director must have persisted in sounds included in music.

I know that we are apt to watch in “pictures” about movie, but, in fact, what makes good film be “good” is music.

In any case, I want you to listen to “Summer” which is main theme of this film composed by Joe Hisaishi.

This film is a story about a little boy around 10’s, who set off on a journey with strange man to meet his mother living far away.

On his journey, he has lot of experiences and going to grow up. There is laughters and tears too.

When I watch the film, it always reminds me of my summer days in childhood.

Time goes on in blazing sun felt as if lasts forever everyday.

There is nothng to have to do and live on lazy days. But it’s special big event if I could start a journey with a man like Kikujiro.

The time in laughters and tears has gone fast , and it’s just end of summer already.

It’s only short time about a month, but it is a whole of life to children.

And step by step, growing to a man.
